Enhancing Product Development Work by Checklists, Policies & Operating Procedures

Checklists, Policies & Operating Procedures enable the consistent implementation of your business processes and improve your workers productivity.

Your engineers are more and more confronted with an increased process complexity and diversity? Your engineers struggle during operations to follow the right process?

Make use of checklists & operating procedures to enhance your operations and product development work.

We intend to enhance your Engineering operations and collaboration by managing standard operating procedures, work instructions, guidelines, onboarding manuals, checklists or other best practices in a central place, providing them to your engineering teams and partners for day-to-day use. By this your engineers are supported in their daily work – reusing and continuously enhancing the knowledge and best practices of your company.

Collaborative Process Management for Engineers

The Engineering domain is characterized by a high degree of process diversity with domain specifics and less by repetitive, sequential processes. This requires a specific approach for process management & orchestration: We consider a procedure driven approach as most applicable.

Operating procedures for domain specific use cases seem to be more applicable to orchestrate daily work of Design Engineers instead of sequential processes. Also, the availability of predefined deliverables, checklists and procedures enhances the results of product development work.

Beyond static PLM Workflow Management

Many PLM systems offer workflows that are most typically used to orchestrate the data maintenance processes, but less the specific Engineering tasks.

We recognized that a lot of PLM workflows focus on the data maintenance processes, but less the domain specific Engineering work. We think that current PLM workflows should be accompanied and extended via business process procedures and policies to support the Engineering collaboration and processes.

Leveraging the hidden Best Practices of your Design Engineers

Many policies, procedures and work instructions are managed per team and domain - without general visibility and sharing. Let´s make use of them along operations.

Domain specific operating procedures are not shared across the teams. We intend to share them on a common platform for templates. Also, we intend to connect them together via subscriptions and triggers. By this, a federated network of procedures is generated.

Orchestration of Engineering Work

Could Operating Procedures support the orchestration of Engineering work? How do you manage the growing process complexity of your Product Development Work?

Could simple checklists and operating procedures help your Design Engineers orchestrating their work? Stored as PDFs and XLSs, you start to capture and share your process know how. But how about using this know how for coordination or even automation?

Management of Domain Specifics along Product Changes - a Use Case

Could Checklists & Procedures enhance your Product Development Work? How do you orchestrate the domain specific aspects of a product change for instance?

Think about a software change that is affecting your HMI, your IoT Backend as well as a flash routine. How do you assure that all those domain specific aspects are considered along your software change?

Continuous Improvement of Product Development Procedures & Operations

How do you manage changes of your Product Development Processes? Product Development requires flexibility – and constant adaptation and improvement to meet new requirements and regulations.
